Quran verses about peace
Peace, salam, is one of the Quran's most frequent words and one of Allah's names, as-Salam, the Source of Peace. It is the greeting Muslims give each other, the greeting of angels to the people of Paradise, and the word the Quran uses for Paradise itself, Dar as-Salam, the Home of Peace. The whole Night of Decree is described as peace until dawn.
Peace in the Quran works at several levels. There is inner peace, the tranquility Allah sends into hearts and the soul at rest in 89:27. There is peace between people: reconciling quarreling believers, settling differences in a marriage, and inclining toward peace when the other side does. And there is the peaceful character of the servants of the Most Merciful, who answer the ignorant with words of peace. The verses below move through each of these.

The Quran links outer peace and inner peace. A calmer heart makes it easier to answer harshness with salam, and making peace with someone often settles the heart in return. A simple start is the greeting itself: saying as-salamu 'alaykum with meaning, as a small wish of peace for the person in front of you.
